Alder Hollow is a Warrior cat roleplay based off of the books by Erin Hunter. The scene is painted differently here - it takes place in an English countryside in 1864. But it isn't just the setting that is different - it is also their warrior customs...
Leaf-bare has finally taken hold into AshClan. Although it isn't supposed to be a terrible one, so there is no need to panic. Prey is still running well, but it is obviously supposed to decrease as the temperatures drop. Right now there is no sickness running around, but with winter always brings greencough. It has already begun to snow, and it is expected to have a snowstorm sometime this month. But the cats can only sit and wait for the unthinkable to happen.
AshClan dens are wide and roomy; they actually live in old rabbit burrows. Each den is just big enough to hold the maximum amount of cats. It's built cave-like so it blocks out any weather. They use moss and soft bracken for lining their nests, sometimes feathers if they can find any. The leader and deputy sleep in the biggest dens not too far away from each other, and they're made from a huge slab of marble.
AshClan's camp is actually shaped much like a square. There are three flat sunning rocks, a bit of grass, and a small, scraggly tree used for a bit of shade. The nannies take the kits out here to play or introduce them to the Clan. The fresh-kill pile is located at the base of the tree, in sight of the deputy's den for supervision.
In the southeast corner of the camp is Yarrow's shrine; a circle of the sort of rocks that sparkle a bit, arranged around a single stalk of yarrow. This site is visited often, and many have said that they have seen a shadowy, cat-shaped figure walking around the area when asking Yarrow for guidance. Others say that there is a cold wind that goes by along with a raspy voice in their head...
If you aren't the least bit observant, you may see that there is a small entrance just beyond the elder's den. Nettles walls and branches knit the roof and walls. This cavern is very small - only about two feet high and a couple feet across. In the center is a single pool of rich, dark water. The leader goes here for some time away and the medicine cat comes here to see visions. Just being in the little cave has some effect on you - like you don't want to whisper a word.
Not far from AshClan's camp is a long, clean river than winds through the countryside for miles. It is full of trout and other fish, and since it's pretty shallow it's even better for fishing. Most of the nannies take kits to this river to frolic in the low waters. The deepest part of the river is only three feet deep; the widest width is four feet across.
Bluejay Summit is actually a series of rolling hills. They're a good look-out place, and the soil is dry, so it can be used to make burrows. But there aren't any trees. From the highest hill, you can see around for miles and miles. These hills are great assets in emergency situations.
At the foothills of the hills is the Wildflower meadow. It's filled with pastel-colored flowers that sway in the breeze. The meadow is a popular place for the medicine cats to gather. There can be mice found here, but mostly it is just for playing in, not hunting.
Named after one of the greatest warriors ever, a legend to those who lived after his time, Spiderdawn forest is almost sacred - a place that you wouldn't normally believe in until you discover it innocently one day. There is nothing special about the forest besides it's name; prey is plentiful, the trees are healthy, and it is the perfect hiding place from predators. Besides hunting, since the ground is quite uneven, apprentices come here to train.
Although it isn't very clean, the Morningshine marsh is very wide and takes up most of the Suffragette territory. It provides great protection with the long reeds and stinky smell, even if the soil is sticky and muddy.
Like the marsh, the Boulder Quarry provides excellent shelter in tough weather, and it's easier to hunt where the soil isn't so sticky. All around this part of Alder Hollow are giant, pale-shaded rocks, some as big as elephants and horses. Over time, many have worn down small crevices, and the Suffragettes have lain many of these with moss to use as makeshift dens when they are sleeping overnight in their land. This is also considered to be camp for them, as the taller rocks make for good announcement places. They also get pleasantly warm in the sunlight, especially in greenleaf.
Located directly in the center of Suffragette territory, the forest clearing is about a ten-yard wide area with soft soil and an abundant source of prey. It is one of the best places in the countryside to come and hunt. The clearing is pretty close to AshClan's camp, which is the only downfall. It's a great place to come lay down in the sun in greenleaf, however, in leaf-bare, more snow than usually falls down into the clearing.
In all honesty, the bramble patch is completely worthless unless you're escaping an enemy. No cat is expected to come out unscathed. But this is a great place for training since a cat must be careful of not just their battle partner if they have one, but the spiky thorns that surround them. This place is also a very great safe haven.
